Message from the Curriculum Director

Saint Joseph Academy offers a rigorous approach towards traditional academics. It provides a challenging, coherent and relevant curriculum for each student. Please click here for our philosophy supporting a traditional, classical education. 

In addition to a classical curriculum, Saint Joseph Academy offers an approach towards teaching the Catholic Faith that both is doctrinally sound and offers many opportunities for spiritual growth by incorporating students into the life of the Church. Religious truths are integrated throughout the entire school program. All teachers take an Oath of Fidelity to uphold the Magisterium.

 Independent evaluation of our programs has affirmed our academic excellence, with 6-year WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accreditation, for grades TK-12 in 2016.  Please just change the date from 2016 to 2022. The national IOWA tests pay tribute to the education that our students receive by consistently averaging in the 90th and above percentile for core total scores. Saint Joseph Academy students, taken together as a school, are working approximately four years ahead of the national objective standards for K-8 students. Likewise, taken as a school group, they are performing better than 97% of other K-8 schools. Our high school students are performing better than 94% compared to other high schools nationwide. Performance by our students ranks them in the top 3% of grade schools and the top 6% of high schools in the nation.

High School courses include Honors courses, which have been approved for acceptance by the UC system. We also have an established California Scholarship Federation and National Honor Society chapter in our school.

SJA graduates have been accepted and have been attending such schools as the University of Dallas, Thomas Aquinas College, Franciscan University, Notre Dame University, Catholic University of America, Christendom, Benedictine, Iowa State, California State University, San Marcos, UC Berkely, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, UCR, UC San Diego, USD, University of Portland, USC, as well as many other colleges and universities across the country.
